Support Primary Care Investment in New York State
Good showing for primary care at MRT hearings

Representatives from eight health centers, plus PCDC and CHCANYS, testified a the MRT hearing in the Bronx on June 18. See our testimony here.  About 45 individuals testified.  Five health centers testified at Albany hearing on Wednesday, as well as a rep from AARP who emphasized primary care investment.

Here is a notable quote form the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene testimony

"We support the State’s intention to invest in capital funding for primary care providers, supportive housing, workforce development and new care models including health homes. However, we urge that the 1115 waiver also serve as an instrument for redistributing funding towards building evidence-based, prevention-oriented, coordinated and community-based primary care and behavioral health capacity that can meet the demands of our diverse patient population and improve population health."
